Field-tested, our heavy-duty biodegradable balloons are worth every penny. They are the only ones we use! They consistently produce beautiful spheres of ice (unlike common balloons that tend to burst or freeze into unattractive shapes). Read about balloon quality here.
The balloons included can be used to make both small and large ice lanterns when used with either a Wintercraft Reusable Freezing Base (small) or (large). Just follow the directions in the Wintercraft kits to make stunning globe ice luminaries!
Two Easy-close Balloon Clips are also included in a 6 pack as well as with each 12 replacement balloons purchased in larger quantity balloon packs. Instructions, Reusable Freezing Bases, Insulating Disks are NOT included (these are in kits). Balloons are made of Natural Rubber Latex which may cause allergic reaction. Adult supervision required. Made in USA.
Note: As of November 2021 we are pleased to introduce a new balloon. Long time Wintercraft customers: read about it here. We hope you like the difference!
Fabulous. I love them. They make really large globes.
I had purchased a starter kit for making luminaries. I sent an email reporting One of the balloons had a hole in it. I received a quick reply that they could send new balloons. AndI received them within a week. I wasn’t expecting that! Yay! Thank you very much for such a personal touch.
The balloons are heavy duty- great product! They made wonderful lanterns. Now if only the weather would cooperate and stay below freezing!
I had a short window of time to use the balloons because there was going to be sub 20 degree weather for a few nights. The package was supposed to arrive on March 4, which would have been perfect weather. Instead it arrived March 10 when the weather was 30s at night and high 50s during the day. So I can’t say anything about the balloons because I won’t be using them until next winter. But I did buy the kit early in the winter, and made 12 globes for myself and friends, and they were FANTASTIC!!! So, I’m disappointed with the delivery system, not the product.
How frustrating. I looked up your order and we actually shipped it out the day your order came in. Why it took 10 days to travel from MN to MA is a question for the Post Office. Once it leaves our hands, it's a bit out of our control, but that doesn't alleviate the frustrating experience. So happy your first batch turned out so well. Next winter will be here sooner than we know it... Tom @ Wintercraft
I love making ice lanterns. The quality of balloons from Wintercraft work. I have used the irregulars but tried the upgrade this time. No problem. My biggest problem was not guesstimating the proper time it took to freeze the water balloons just right. I ended up with 2 small lovely solid ice balls. Ha! The vagaries of this winter's temperatures make it a bit harder to predict how long it takes for a good lantern. But I did get one oncology nurse hooked on the ice luminaries. One at a time. The more the merrier.
