Middlemoon Creekwalk

All the stars, and it appears, the moon have lined up to make for a fabulous luminary walk along the creek. After a week or so of subzero temps at where only the adventurous came out to play, a new front has moved in. This is at Wintercraft's hometown of Minneapolis, but I think true nationwide. By comparison, it will seem balmy out there this weekend. So, we decided not to wait for Valentine's Day to have fun, we are going to do it NOW!

We are announcing our annual Spontaneous Luminary Lighting along the creek:

Middlemoon Creekwalk

This Friday & Saturday Night

January 10-11, 2014

We are going to play hookey and fill the creek-bed near our house with all the ice glass and many of the ice lanterns we have gathered in our yard. As in the past, the ice lanterns that didn't quite make the cut, or were the victims of some of my ice experiments, or that have been semi-scorched by the sun have made their way down to the creek to die a beautiful death by candle.

Why are we announcing it this year? It has been our tradition to light up the creek quietly, without fanfare so that people can happen upon a magical candlelit wonderland, but some people who missed it last year were disappointed that we did not let them know.

So, here's your warning. If you want to bring an ice lantern or even help setup or light, all will welcome. If you want to come down and experience the Middlemoon Creekwalk, please rev up your Twitter, Facebook and all those other Social Media gadgets and let your friends know.

Here are a few specifics:
What: Lighting up a small, semi-wild space along the small stretch of Creek between Lake Harriet and Minnehaha Creek with ice lanterns large and small.
When: January 10-11, 2014.
Set-up timing: Anytime during the day on Jan 10, but we will be lighting around dusk. The candles should stay lit until 11pm or so.
Our hope: That people will come to enjoy the glow of the evening.
Wonderful if: people who love ice lanterns will bring one or more of their own ice lanterns to share - we will bring some extra candles.  Also, help will not be turned away!
Tell Others: Yes!
Questions: Contact us through email at info@wintercraft.com or on the Wintercraft Facebook Page.

Hope to see you down there to Enjoy the Glow!
